Before we go into what Gaming for Kitties is, let’s take a moment to go into what it is NOT. It is NOT someone
asking you to throw money into a personal paypal with
the hopes that maybe the charity will see some of it. We
use MightyCause
for donations and do not see a penny of it unless you
choose to tip us
which is an option you can do through MightyCause. And even
then the tips
will go to buying items to help us with the
gamestream. We use MightyCause because they allow us to keep a constant tally of
donations and
you can use your donation email from them on your taxes
to get a
deduction. We do everything in our power to keep
things honest
and up front so nobody thinks their money is being used
for personal
gain. It is NOT a weekend
long game of Call of Duty. Not that Call of Duty is a
bad game, but we like to play games that are fun to
watch and don’t take up too much time. So you get silly
games like Toonstruck, dramatic and personal games like
Firewatch, and spooky weird games like The Last
Door. We want to make you laugh, cry, and
think. We also know that not everybody has twelve
hours to burn to watch a game from start to finish, so
instead we play short games that take two to six hours
to play. Some only take half an hour! Many
people who say they dislike game streams say they love
ours. So what IS Gaming
for Kitties? It's a 48 hour marathon designed to
help raise money for Big Cat Rescue in
Tampa Florida. Every hour (except during breaks
where we play videos) we offer raffle prizes in the form
of steam game codes and donated physical prizes.
In the past people have donated art commissions, plush
toys, electronics, and neat collectables. On top of that we
have fun things going on while the gaming is
happening. Fox draws her Court Reporter images
that document fun parts of the stream, and you get to
suggest ideas for them! Plus we have live readings
of weird scripts, we make our pit crew do goofy things
once we hit certain goals, and we have lots of other fun
ways you can participate! The stream starts at
12:01AM on October 27th and runs until midnight on the
28th. You can watch it on our Tigerdile
site. The stream is not blocked for people
with no accounts, but you'll need one to be eligible for
raffle prizes because we post the raffle URL in the chat
channel which is not viewable to people with no
account. Tigerdile's admin, Tanabi, will NOT use
your information for spam or personal use. This is
one of the reasons why we stick to his site for our
event. It's a weekend of
tax-deductible fun with art, games, awesome friends, and
lots of surprises. We hope to see you there!
